Don't expect RIM to run through $150

Typically, consumer technology companies enjoy the September to January period as new products are introduced and the holiday season drives gadget sales.

Hi Lou,

Just want to let you know how much I enjoy the morning show with John Oakley. I have been listening to it for years. Sounds like your daughter Madeline has a great dad! I keep hearing about the Palace on Pape. Is it worth a drive from Peterborough?

What is your take on RIM? It has taken quite a ride lately. I’m working on freedom 85……

Cheers,
Bob

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your years of support of the John Oakley Show on AM640 it is very much appreciated! Madeline came to me at a point in my life where I was able to realize that she was my ultimate purpose. I have been lucky in that many of my friends had children years before me and they provided great insight into what they learned.

Here are some of their thoughts,

They don’t listen to what you say, they do what you do!
- Pierre Laferrier

Your role as a father is to protect your children, provide for their needs, and prepare them for their lives.
- Steve Kalil

People way dumber than you have had children and not accidentally killed them, so relax.
- Howard Glassman

Standing on the shoulders of giants makes parenting that much easier!

When you ask if the Palace Restaurant on Pape in Toronto is worth the drive from Peterborough let me tell you a story about my pal Stephen Speiser who is a successful real estate developer in the New York City area and joined me on my 50th birthday at the Palace.

Stephen never liked to order fish in a restaurant because he always found it was never prepared to his liking. Since he was here and enjoyed the fish he ordered at the Palace his wife tells me he has become a fish snob and compares all restaurants to the Palace. Stephen has and does eat in some of the finest restaurants in Greater New York. The fact that he loves the Palace comes as no surprise to me.

Peter, Johnny, and Stella make every man a king and every woman a queen when they visit the Palace. Trust me when I say you will not be disappointed!

As for Research in Motion, RIM TSX. I covered RIM about a month ago and said at the time that it looked like a buy at $110 on a pull back to support which is what happened. With the summer behind us RIM is sitting nicely for a period of seasonal strength. Typically consumer technology companies enjoy the September to January period as new products are introduced and the holiday season drives gadget sales.

RIM looks poised to make a move but don’t expect it to run through $150 but still a nice package under the tree for the holidays.

Happy Capitalism!
