Hello My Friends,
This morning on the John Oakley Show on AM 640 a caller identifying himself as a proud unionist saw fit to denigrate New Canadians as the cause of economic strife in this country. For those of you who do not live in the Greater Toronto Area the city is in the middle of a strike by city workers leaving garbage to liquefy in the summer sun and city run day cares and pools to close.
I want that chimp and all other closet racist to come to grips with their hatred and realise that this country was built by New Canadians.
The fact that the the least educated and least productive members of the work force want to continue to maintain a labour monopoly with the City of Toronto and extract higher wages and benefits than 75% of other workers in the economy is one thing. But to lay blame on New Canadians for the state of the economy is an outrage! Look in the mirror chimp! You are the problem, they are the solution.
And I get it that New Canadians is code for your type of racists. New Canadians work longer and harder to build new lives for themselves and their families and as a consequence they build our communities. The life sucking sound you hear are the rants of racist scum that populate an entitled union elite.
Lets conduct a simple excercise – lets demand a survey of the unionized work force employed by the City of Toronto. Lets see how the demographics break down. Lets see who is riding who to ruin.
Happy Capitalism!

Couldn’t agree more, brilliant.
1) Given the climate right now in Toronto I wouldn’t be in the least shocked if people were playing provocateur and making such calls in the name of “union” members (it doesn’t seem this person identified his union by name, so who knows). There really isn’t any way to truly know who made the call to AM 640.
2) No group is immune to racism, as sad as that is. Unions would thus be no different, should this caller be genuine. That said, you would think all the Union workplace and “sensitivity” training they have would help with that!
3) The epithet “chimp” is in fact one I’ve heard bandied about by racists along with the usual “monkey” remark. These slurs were in fact directed by some less honourable folks against the Tamil protestors of early summer, not a classy way to register one’s opposition). Perhaps another term of disparagement is in order?
4) The private sector could itself be doing a better job of including these productive and positive New Canadians you speak of in the ranks of upper management, particularly given some of the global knowledge and skills they bring to the table.
