		<description>1) Given the climate right now in Toronto I wouldn&#039;t be in the least shocked if people were playing provocateur and making such calls in the name of &quot;union&quot; members (it doesn&#039;t seem this person identified his union by name, so who knows). There really isn&#039;t any way to truly know who made the call to AM 640.

2) No group is immune to racism, as sad as that is. Unions would thus be no different, should this caller be genuine. That said, you would think all the Union workplace and &quot;sensitivity&quot; training they have would help with that!

3) The epithet &quot;chimp&quot; is in fact one I&#039;ve heard bandied about by racists along with the usual &quot;monkey&quot; remark. These slurs were in fact directed by some less honourable folks against the Tamil protestors of early summer, not a classy way to register one&#039;s opposition). Perhaps another term of disparagement is in order?

4) The private sector could itself be doing a better job of including these productive and positive New Canadians you speak of in the ranks of upper management, particularly given some of the global knowledge and skills they bring to the table.</description>
