Zedi Inc. is another case of a fair to good fundamental story failing to create any wealth. The charts have been telling investors to stay away for years.

What is your take on ZEDi (ZED-X) Inc.. This little engine that could company is making money and has a positive cash flow. How come it doesn’t seem to buck the trend?

Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the assignment. Zedi Inc ( ZED TSXV) was first put on my radar by Peter Brieger from GlobeInvest Capital Management over 6 years ago and it had a nice ride for a while. Full disclosure I got to know Peter over my years in television and I have respect for his skills as an investment manager. But that was then and this is now and now is a big Ow!

The three year chart provided a view of a stock that has been losing ground for years.  ZED traded as high as $3.00 in 2005  but it has never come close to those levels over the last five years and unless they can get some traction with investors the stock isn’t likely to move higher. In 2009 Peter Brieger publicly announced that he had lost patience with management and had sold his remaining shares.

The six month chart  isn’t showing much of a reversal in the downdraft that has plagued ZED. The MACD isn’t signaling an upturn and the stock is trading on thin volume. You can also see that when the was an attempt to move higher in January of 2010 ZED met resistance on its 200 day moving average.

Zedi Inc. is another case of a fair to good fundamental story failing to create any wealth. The charts have been telling investors to stay away for years. The trend is your friend till it ends!
