The first thing I want to do is recognize the pain and suffering of the families who have lost loved ones as a result of this tragedy. My prayers and thoughts go with all those affected.

MFI has been in a sell off since the summer of 2007 and the recent event didn’t do one thing to turn a bad story into a better one. The company has had to contend with rising costs of food and energy and that put a squeeze on their performance. The MACD gave a howling sell signal in July of last year and has not indicated a turn in the downtrend.

MFI had been trading in a down channel and the recent gap down broke through support. There are too many things going against this food processor presently and investors would be best served looking elsewhere for opportunities.
